Best Time To Catch The Sunrise & Sunset In Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari is one of the very few places on earth where you can watch both the sunrise and the sunset over the ocean from the same shore. Timing your visit right makes all the difference to the experience.

For sunrise, reach the shore or Sunrise Point by around 5:30 to 6:00 AM. On clear mornings the sun appears to rise straight out of the sea — a truly magical sight worth waking up early for.

For sunset, head towards the Gandhi Mandapam and Sunset Point area by about 6:00 PM. During Chitra Purnima (usually in April), you can even see the sun set and the full moon rise at the same time.

There are few things as peaceful as watching the sky change colours over three seas at dawn.
